Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical Veterinary Ophthalmology

Veterinarian with advanced training in veterinary ophthalmology.  Board certified or eligible for board certification by the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists is required.  Clinical experience and competence in veterinary ophthalmology required.  Demonstrated aptitude/experience in teaching, particularly clinical instruction, required.  Documented record of creative scholarship or potential to develop a clinical research program in ophthalmology required.  Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work with others in a collegial team atmosphere.  The position includes a 70% clinical commitment to the Ophthalmology Service of the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital (VMTH).  A valid license to practice veterinary medicine in California is required before employment (California Business and Professions Code Section 4846-4857).  Individuals not eligible for a full California license must obtain a University License (California Business and Professions Code Section 4848.1) by the time of appointment.  A complete position description is available on- line at: https://www.vetmed.ucdavis.edu/departments/vsr.
