Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Equine Surgical Emergency and Critical Care

Veterinarian with advanced training in Equine Surgery. Board certification by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons or European College of Veterinary Surgeons is required. Board certification in the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care is preferred. PhD or advanced training in research is preferred. Clinical experience and competence in equine surgery and critical care is required. Demonstrated aptitude/experience in teaching is required. Documented research record or potential to develop an independent research program in equine surgery is required; emphasis in equine/comparative gastroenterology or emergency surgery/critical care preferred.

Must possess outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work with others in a collegial team atmosphere. A valid license to practice veterinary medicine in California is required before employment (California Business and Professions Code Section 4846-4857). Individuals not eligible for a full California license must obtain a University License (California Business and Professions Code Section 4848.1) by the time of appointment.
